A few months ago I posted about the Middle School quest for the holy grail. The TOP Locker! Someone commented about the lockers at KHS being blue and that got me to thinking. When we were in school each section of the school had different colored lockers. Your locker location was also assigned by class. Freshmen had the lockers near the girls gym which were the farthest point from any classroom, with the exception of the Gyms, The Commons or Temp buildings. As you climbed the high school hierarchy you eventually got the prestigious Senior Lockers which were smack dab in the middle of the school on the first floor........and these were indeed blue. I remember getting my senior locker. It was located directly in front of the attendance office and it was a top locker too! Flash forward 25 years. Since the school remodel the lockers are located in different places now. They are all blue, and get this........you are assigned a locker as a freshman and you keep that until you graduate. Kudos for the kids who get the good ones. For those of you in the bowels of the school, and stuck on the bottom....Sucks for you! It will build character, and get you in shape for walking 2.5 miles across campus between classes when you are in college! As I walk the halls of KHS as a Mom instead of a student all sorts of funny / disturbing memories flood back. Its kind of cool since KHS is the first Kingwood school that both my boys and I attended. I am sure you guys are in for many more of my Observations!
