A few of you may know that I have been attempting to understand profound genius in light of, well, in light of light - cosmic consciousness. I posted a few examples of extraordinary genius on my wordpress blog and on Facebook. I want to share another one today... here... to make a point: Genius is ours. It is a gift from above; a gift of divinity and we all are endowed with the basics of connectivity to extraordinary experiences of consciousness. One day this example will be ordinary, I think. Following a diagnosis of autism at age two, Jacob was subjected to a cookie cutter special education system that focused on correcting what he couldnt do compared to normal children. His spirit was all be crushed. Jacobs mother withdrew him from the standardized therapy for hie ‘special needs’ and she began to let him explore the things he wanted to explore. He studied patterns and shadows and stars .She made sure that he had “normal” childhood pleasures too with other kids his age. By the time Jacob reached the age of 11, he entered college and is currently studying condensed matter physics at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. According to an email Professor Scott Tremaine wrote to Jacob’s family: “The theory that he’s working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics … Anyone who solves these will be in line for a Nobel Prize.” Jacobs story may seem extraordinary - and really it is. However, I want to place in our awareness tonight that what our cultures teach us is not what is bet for us - I think what is best for us is the exploring of socially-moral uplifting experiences, collaboration, creativity, and a deep love for humanity... sharing well-being and loving kindness.
