A few systems will be tracking across the Plains this weekend bringing a chance for rain and severe storms across Iowa. Today, clouds will increase as a warm/occluded front tracks into the area. A few light showers are possible, mainly this afternoon and tonight. Highs will be warmer today in the 70s and a south/southeast wind up to 20 mph. Lows tonight will be in the 50s with winds dropping to just 10 mph. The warm front will set up across Iowa tomorrow. There is a chance of severe weather Sunday. The chance of severe storms developing will be very dependent on 1) cloud cover, 2) where the front sets up and 3) if storms develop Monday night in Missouri. All severe weather threats are possible. Be sure to stay up to date on the weather throughout the day Sunday. Highs will be in the 70s again with southeast winds up to 15 mph. Rain/storms, a few severe, will continue into Sunday night and Monday. Severe weather will remain possible Monday as the cold front track across the state. Highs will be in the 60s to 70s Monday. By the time this system moves out, some locations could pick up 2+” of rain. Cooler for the rest of the week with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s and lows around 40. Chance for rain Thursday and Saturday.
