A few years back I saw Jonsí play at the Vic in Chicago. Úlfur Hansson (the bass player) used a monome on one of the songs to create these eerie howling and growling sounds. After trying to figure out what he was doing, I discovered that he is a member of the monome community forums. He shared this app that he had written and a few details about the Jonsí live set. The app is called Wolves. I tried it out a bit, but could never adapt it to anything I did live. Despite my liking for the eerie tones, it just didn’t fit my workflow. Last night I finally took the time to rewrite and adapt the app to the new monome protocols and port it to maxforlive. Here is some eerie howling of my own on this chilly october eve. -charlie
