A few years back and still happening today fisherman worried about the import of crawfish and catfish from China because it could be purchased for about half the cost of US catfish and about 2/3rds the cost of crawfish it became such an issue that a law was passed, making it illegal to call foreign catfish catfish still today restaurants are purchasing this less expensive foreign product however they cant call it catfish. A bit of Irony is our cattle and meat production is low and US meat companys are exporting our already low supplies of meat over seas to China, this is part of the reason you have seen your grocery bill higher than usual. Im all about exporting overseas however the point to be made is were getting hurt from both exporting and importing of food supplies to China, at the end of the video they mentioned prices are usually higher in the summer which is true however they have held at their highest point and do not seem to be dropping. I spent $84.00 at Rouses Friday and could carry everything I purchased with one hand. WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way if you didnt know, we serve 100% US catfish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
