A few years back, much after Ma had forgotten Krishnanagar, daddy met a sprightly seventy eight year old from the same town. Brother of one of Bengals most famous matinee idols, Shambit Chatterjee was also mas contemporary from Presidency and went on to a distinguished career in banking. But right now, he was just a confused man in an Alzheimers day camp who could not understand anything happening around him and chose to try and hide that by talking loudly about anything that came to his head. My father walked up and asked him about the Roy house on the main street in Krishnanagar and all the pretty sisters who lived there, and immediately his eyes lit up.
