A friend of mine shared this very moving video and I immediately thought some of the subject matter in RR series. In particular, Chandler stated, There is a pull in church life to adopt language and posture that are not realities in our hearts, and later Gosh, thats just dumb. To try to pretend youre more than you are to impress people who are trying to pretend theyre more than they are? bit.ly/1pjrpWD Its the tendency to act like the world in a social setting, making yourself appear as if nothing is wrong and that you have it all together. And, while Chandler was talking about sin, the same applies to our brokenness - those deep hurts and ugly, awful secrets - Jesus can redeem that too and He often uses US as His body to accomplish that. We must be willing to deal with each others messes, stop lying to each other that everything is OK when its not, and BE there for each other in the love of Christ. I really feel for this man in the video and pray for his salvation and redemption. His admission took a lot of courage and humility. He is a broken man, like so many of us. Jesus LOVES broken people.
