A fundamental criticism of programs like this is that it costs money to house the homeless . . . and it absolutely does. However, it costs a lot less to provide a home - an actual home, not a shelter - to homeless people than it does to not. Side point, that Fox news clip used in the piece has the anchor offended that our view of poor people living in squalor is wrong in that many poor people have stuff. Instead of being offended that 99.6% of poor people have refrigerators, shouldnt we be offended that 0.4% dont? Instead of being outraged that 78.3% of poor people have air conditioners (which they often cant afford the electricity bills to run), should we be concerned that 21.7% dont - particularly in those very hot spells? Once again, I still prefer the R.I.C.H. Economy system but if we cant have that then at least house and care for the poor and disenfranchised in society.
