A great artice from our Connexion newsletter: Lean: A Complete Protein Shake When Xyngular’s Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) decided to create a protein formula, it had to be both effective and unique, while still maintaining a low calorie profile and an incredible flavor. Xyngular’s SAB not only got the flavor perfect with Lean, they also created a innovative and complete protein powder and meal replacement. Protein is one of the most important nutrients in any diet, and many people do not consume enough protein on a daily basis leading to a weak immune system, and poor recovery. Beyond the well known muscle building and recovery benefits of protein, there is far more to protein’s role in the body. Protein is essential for the normal development and function of every cell and tissue in the body. When consuming protein, one of the most important factors to consider is the absorption rate of the amino acids. In the most simple terms, absorption rates of different proteins can be broken down into fast or slow digesting proteins. Proteins typically considered fast absorbing, like whey, initiate protein synthesis quickly leading to faster recovery and increased lean muscle growth. In addition, whey protein isolates and concentrates have been shown to increase the amount of the muscle building amino acid leucine in the bloodstream. The Xyngular SAB, seeing the need for more than just fast-digesting proteins, wanted to create a complete protein drink in Lean. Slow digesting proteins, like the Non-GMO soy in Lean, are an excellent way to slow down the digestion of protein in the body. Since these protein sources are digested in a slower manner, they are excellent way to maintain a feeling of fullness while dieting while also providing the body with a steady stream of amino acids. In addition to the benefits it provides as a slow digested protein, soy also has benefits that whey, casein, and other protein powders do not. Soy has the ability to raise growth hormone (GH) levels. This appears to be due to its high amino acid content, primarily the arginine and lysine content. Research has also found that soy can boost nitric oxide (NO) levels. Virginia Tech researchers found that the genistein found in soy increased NO levels by increasing the amount of nitric oxide synthase, which is the enzyme that begins the conversion of arginine into NO. In another study, published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, men who consumed 40 grams of soy protein before lifting weights, for a period four weeks, had better antioxidant protection following a weight training session compared to men who consumed whey protein. In addition, a 2005 study published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness found that women consuming soy protein, also for a period of four weeks, had less oxidative muscle damage following exercise than those consuming only whey. Despite the benefits of each, slow (soy) or fast (whey) digested proteins alone are not enough to make a complete protein powder or meal replacement shake. When creating a meal replacement, the healthy way to increase satiety and keep the calories to a minimum is to use a mixture of fast and slow digested proteins. In Lean, we utilize whey concentrates, whey isolates for our fast digested protein and soy isolates and soy protein as our slow digested protein. This willingness go the extra mile, and not use cheaper but detrimental carbohydrates has led to one of the longest lasting, low calorie meal replacement, protein shakes available today. The Xyngular SAB went above and beyond what is normal for protein powders, to create a truly exceptional product. One of my favorite aspects of Lean, and one of the most unique, is the vitamin, mineral, and enzyme content. As with the bilayer benefits of Axion, Lean provides the body with vitamins and minerals, and when consumed, it keeps the body nourished with these essential nutrients throughout the day providing a steady flow of nutrients right when the body needs them. Beyond the vitamins and minerals, the enzyme blend is the factor that truly takes Lean to the next level. Lean provides the body with enzymes that are essential for the breakdown and absorption of various nutrients, leading to a gentler and more complete digestion of Lean itself. Lean was designed with our Distributor’s needs in mind and, because of this, it has truly been an effective and unique product. With the addition of the 30 serving bag and being Gluten Free and Non-GMO, Lean is only getting better as a product. Lean truly is the favorite protein drink of anyone who tries it because of its incredible nutritional support and its amazing flavor.
