A great beard,shortened pants and a black big siqida,were ENOUGH SIGNS for me to JUDGE my new site manager A PIUS MAN!!! So when it was approaching Juma time and he was continuing with his work undisturbed,I asked where the mosque was,he directed me and I didnt bother to remind him,WHO COULD REMIND A MUFTI.So driving in search for a mosque,I met this young boy in Jeans,you could hardly tell he was a Muslim.Finding out that he was going to the mosque,I offered him a lift....WHY DO YOU PRAY? I asked him.....TO SEEK ALLAHS FORGIVENESS That straight forward answer shocked me,here was a 16 years old boy whose major reason was to seek Allahs forgiveness yet 4-decade-full-me was seeking for FIRST a goodly world AND THEN the hereafter!!!.WONDERING WHY THIS YOUNG BOY (WHOSE SINS RECORDING STARTED AT 14 YEARS) WOULD BE SO KEEN TO REPENT,MADE ME SUSPECT HE WAS EITHER TERRIFIED OF ALLAHS PUNISHMENT OR SO OBSESSED WITH THE LOVE OF ALLAH,THAT HE DIDNT WANT TO ANNOY HIM THE SLIGHTEST.To cut the long story short,I befriended him,had lunch together and before departing asked him to pray for me,..HE MADE HIS DUA IN ARABIC AND TRANSLATING WORD BY WORD IN MY LANGUAGE.Reaching the site,the SITE MANAGER was STILL WORKING!..I HAD JUDGED THE BOOK BY ITS COVER.May ALLAH make us TRUE MUSLIMS whose hearts are dressed in HIS LOVE AND FEAR like THE BOY and not ORNAMENTAL MUSLIMS who appear just outwardly Muslims only.Thinking of my sins,from today I will have to just SEEK ALLAHS FORGIVENESS ONLY....I DONT THINK I AND THE LIKES OF ME,HAVE THE TIME TO SEEK FOR ANYTHING ELSE.YES JUST LIKE THE YOUNG BOY,WE ALL HAVE TO BEFRIEND ALLAH AND THE REST WILL JUST FLOW....AS WAS THE CASE WITH THE BOY...IF YOURE FORGIVEN,YOURE ALLAHS FRIEND AND IF YOURE ALLAHS FRIEND ALL YOUR PROBLEMS BECOME HISTORY.
