A great observing night was had by GAA Members and Guests last night. Under the first reliably clear observing night skies for the year, we were treated to great views of Saturn, A big bright Alha Centuri (A globular cluster of over 1 million stars), the Lagoon Nebula & star Cluster. The Sparkling Jewel Box in the Souther Cross, Planetary Nebulas the Ring and Dumbell Plus the glitting star fields of Saggitarius. Away from the telescope there was a consistant pattern of Meteors in the southern sky, with at least 1 dozen bright meteors spotted. We had a suprize visit from a group of enthusiastic teachers from "Ramo" visiting town for the weekend. Join up with GAA for the best views of the night sky !
