A great tango musician is gone. This morning in Buenos Aires, we lost Leopoldo Federico, a bandoneonist, conductor, and composer who once performed in the orchestras of Carlos Di Sarli, Lucio Demare, Horacio Salgán, Mariano Mores, and Astor Piazzolla. In the 1960s, he accompanied singer Julio Sosa, then formed the Cuarteto San Telmo in partnership with guitarist Roberto Grela, and conducted his own orchestra that conquered audiences all over the world during the last five decades. Federico was a prolific composer. Some of his creations were recorded by the orchestras of Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgan, and Astor Piazzolla. Thank you Maestro for seventy years of great tangos! Let’s see and listen to Federico performing of El Abrojito: https://youtube/watch?v=Y7OyoEkh_Bs#t=25
