A lesson from helping someone troubleshoot last night: Just because your browser says your website is down, it doesnt mean your site is actually down. There are many things that can go wrong between your computer at home and your server, such as problems with your internet service provider, problems at the internet backbone level, and so on. Im happy to help people troubleshoot through the issue and find out what is going on, but sometimes you have to have patience because its not your hosts fault! I have a feeling that, with these big internet companies like AT&T and Comcast having more and more power over your internet access, were going to see more problems cropping up at the backbone level - in the space between you and the server.
