A letter from our Parent Coordinator, Elizabeth Calhoun: Greetings nex+Gen Families and Community; We hope that you are enjoying this beautiful summer weather. We need volunteers for a few important tasks and projects. See descriptions below for more information. REGISTRATION VOLUNTEERS (short term with one day of training) Registration for the fall is right around the corner and we need volunteers to help out with the different stations, such as ID tags, collecting lab fees, etc. Registration will be held on August 6th in two sessions (morning and afternoon). Training for the registration day volunteers will be held at nex+Gen on Monday, August 5th (time to be announced). Our registration volunteers help to streamline the process of registering our learners. Please let us know if you can help out with this important task. NEX+GEN SCHOOL STORE (short term and long term volunteers needed) Interested in retail business or have retail business experience? nex+Gen wants to open a school store to help with fundraising for the school. We need parents and community members who have experience and/or interest in developing our school store. Please help our school store become a retail success! Your commitment can be short or long term for this project. FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE (long term volunteers needed) Do you have community contacts? Do you like meeting people and promoting our wonderful school? nex+Gen needs to form a Fundraising Committee to help raise money for our school. This is a very important committee; because nex+Gen is a small, school of choice we do not have the usual avenues for funding general school expenses such as after school programs and clubs, buses for field trips, etc. We need a group of energetic folks to form this new committee, brainstorm ideas, and implement fund raising programs. TEACHER PRE PLANNING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS AUGUST 7TH AND 8TH. Our wonderful nex+Gen Facilitators will be meeting on August 7th and 8th to plan for the return or our learners. We would like to provide breakfast and lunch for our Facilitators and Staff (approx 35 people). Would you be able to bring food items for the two days? We need juice, danish, fruit, salads, bread, cold cuts, cheeses, pizzas, etc. If you want to save a trip bring your items by on August 6th during registration and we will store and distribute items.
