A little JFK trivia about the alleged lone assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald... My Dad was a young coach and teacher at Arlington Heights HS in the mid to late 50s when he crossed paths with Oswald. He had Oswald in a study hall class, he recollected, and one day Oswald came by Dads class to get his withdrawal grade. Dad asked him what he was planning on doing. Oswald responded, Im quitting school because Im tired of people telling me what do. So, Im going to join the Marines. My dad, a Marine himself fresh out of Camp Pendleton, could only laugh and reply, You probably dont want to join the Marines then. Oswald said something to my Dad like he was going to come back and kick my Dads butt. Lol. Dad just dismissed him as a punk kid. It wasnt a shock to Dad that Oswald was implicated, but he told me that he didnt think Oswald was smart enough to do this alone. These are my recollections of Dad telling us story and was confirmed by my stepmom, Karen. Crazy, huh?
