A little know fact about me is that I happen to be quite the tree-hugger. One of my New Years resolutions was to bring my tree-hugging to a new level. In the past month I cut my energy output in half by changing all my light bulbs to LEDs. I spent a Saturday morning jerry-rigging all my toilets so that they would use less water (patent pending) and switched to water-saving shower-heads and faucets. Finally, most excitingly, I’m going Solar! Remember all those drawings you used to make as a kid of houses in the future that ran on Solar Power? Well, in 4 weeks, the future will be sitting on my roof. Now, every night, I go knocking on my neighbors doors and talk to them about going Solar. I have this dream of having my whole street be completely off the grid. Last night, I got the old lady next door to sign up. I like to think that small things like this ripple, and small actions have an effect. We are not ready to populate the Moon, so while we’re still stuck here, lets take care of this place.
