A little test for all my hunter friends. I was in the forest today for about a couple hours here and there looking for a Christmas tree. I entered into state land at this point and was a little ways in when I heard the ice cracking besides me as if a large animal was following us. I had my dog stryder with me, and he became agitated with his nose up I knew something was close by. Most of the forest floor was covered with a sheet of ice with about 4 to six inches of water below the ice. It became very noisy out there with the cracking. Of ice The temperature had raised and I I figured most of the noise was from the breaking ice. However I knew, and could smell an animal close by. Stryder was becoming very anxious and I made him stay close by. I figured we may have spooked some whitetail and that tis why all the noise of shuffling we heard in the distance. On the way out though, these tracks were right beside ours were we came in. I know most of you know what it is, but I thought I would leave that question out there for fun. What animal was tracking us, or should I say curious about us?
