A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the announcement of a new Pink Floyd album sent millions of rock fans into a state of sensorially-heightened anticipation. It seemed those days ended for good with the release of 1994s The Division Bell, but lo and behold, the word went forth again last summer, and last month The Endless River hit the racks. More of a coda to, than another chapter in, a long career, the record is chock full of musical allusions to earlier Floyd opuses. Saturday night at eleven on FM Flashback, Your Radio Daddy mashes up the old and the new in an hour of Gilmour, Mason, Wright, and sometimes Waters, then and now. Two of the cuts on the new album bear the titles Allonsy-1 and Allonsy-2, giving one pause to consider whether David Gilmour spent his downtime between sessions catching up on the adventures of a certain wandering Doctor from Gallifrey
