A lot of colleagues and friends have asked me lately how and why, if there really was a coup detat to overthrow the Kennedy Administration (which is suggested by overwhelming evidence), would an esteemed body like the Warren Commission perpetuate a cover up? The answer is quite simple. We had a government in flux amid a world bristling with nuclear warheads on high alert, with covert ops prowling every country in the world and every major institution in America. Teetering at the brink of Armageddon, what would you expect the careful statesmen of the Warren Commission to do? Announce on Walter Cronkites evening news, Ladies and gentlemen, please remain calm, but we found it likely that JFK was deposed by a sophisticated strike team at the behest of top leaders in the U.S. intelligence community and in league with your current president, Lyndon B. Johnson. We hope this report will prompt the Joint Chiefs of Staff to detain the president for trial and install an interim government for a safe and orderly transition of power. No chance. Responsible leaders knew that kind of chaos would expose us to our enemies and probably lead to the unspeakable.
