A lot of people are proposing that we should move the capital from Mogadisho to somewhere else in Somalia, personally I dont have a problem with that. Mogadisho and its surroundings have bad memories, since 1990 close to 100,000 plus people have been killed, all the major infrastructure has been looted or destroyed, all the government offices are bare and destroyed, no major parks, no sports and cultural venues or public gathering areas. I think we need to establish a fresh capital city since the constitution is not complete and the federal system have not come to bear. There are precedents for this in the world too, here are all the countries that started fresh capital city and others that moved it. USA - from Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York to Washington DC Russia - from St. Petersburg to Moscow Canada - from Toronto and Quebec city to Ottawa Australia - from Sydney and Melbourne to Canberra India - from Calcutta to New Delhi Brazil - from Rio De Janeiro to Brasilia More Countries are here; Belize, Cote dIvoire, Japan, Kasakhstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Turkey and countless others. Its a doable venture and its time have come. What do you think?
