A lot of progressives sharing this meme are using it as a segue to attacks on George Will, because of everything he has written that is NOT this humane and correct, by their lights. Sorry, guys: in this context, *you* are screwed in the head. When one of your ideological opponents lands on your side on an issue, you do not take the opportunity to pile more scorn on him and say that hes still a piece of crap in your opinion. You give him credit for saying something you find proper. PERIOD. Thats how you build a consensus. Everything else is just guarding the gates of your tree house. Two weeks ago a conservative pal who has come in for regular abuse on my page, a guy who has never had much good to say about Obama, actually came out and praised the President at length for one of those odd moments he agreed with. I have done the same with Dubya, with McCain, with Bill OReilly, even with Sarah Palin, all people I am not fond of. This is because ideas exist independent of personality, and because I have no problem also saying that people whose ideas I normally follow can be screwed in the head on occasion...as I am. So it is with George Will. If he said something you can support here, dont then leap to your list of complaints about him. Just put a checkmark next to this one thing.
