A lot of us tend to struggle with taking a stand in what we - TopicsExpress

A lot of us tend to struggle with taking a stand in what we believe in. Instead of setting ourselves apart and voicing our heart, we find comfort in agreeing with the crowd. We want our faith and our beliefs to change the world, but we do not feel our individual story is needed for the movement. I spent a lot of time writing about Jesus and the Bible before I felt confident enough to let anyone else read anything I had written. Because of my past, I did not think I was “qualified” to share with others who Jesus was to me. I thought my story would do more harm to what Jesus was doing in the world than good. I let myself believe my opinion was meaningless. In my mind, my place was just to go to church and agree with whatever was being said. Supporting my peers and backing them up was more than a big enough contribution on my part. The problem with this is that the thoughts of the people in my life can not do anything for my relationship with God. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus ask the disciples who they think he is. The views of others can not be what determines our faith. At some point our heart has to depend on what is important to us. So who is Jesus to you? Is he always just going to be someone who changed one of your friends life, or are you going to let him change yours? Are you ok with simply knowing someone who experiences Jesus love, or do you want to feel it for yourself? Do you know someone who lives for Jesus and enjoy hearing about the miracles Jesus is doing, or do you want to give your life to him and become one?
