A lot these days is on my mind, the move for one, but also this time of year makes me think of what is really important. If you look on TV it just depressing, so may commercials, what does one do when one does not have all the money to spend? I loved when I was young, My father would have a puppit show for my birthday, the day before and all the kids in the neighbourhood would come for the show and goodies. My brother, now past. He would stand on top of the stairs, we lived on the third floor, and collect a chocolate bar or a candy, of course I never saw the candy...! I think he ate them... the best part I like was the story my father told us every year on Christmas day. We sat around the Christmas tree and he would tell us about Sofie and how she had to sell matchsticks the whole day in the windy snow blowing day. if she would come home without money, she would have to go to bed without supper. she did not sell anything and at the end of the day she was looking inside a window and saw children gathered around a tree a family that she so longed for. it was so cold and she was so tired she went to sit down and fell asleep. While she was asleep, the lady of the house came outside and saw her on her porch. she noticed a medallion hanging by a chain around the little girls neck, Was this her little girl that went missing so many years ago? She looked at the chain and then with joy called out to her husband, for truly it was their little girl that had gone missing so many years ago. What a beautiful Christmas they had. Sofie was so happy she would never have to be cold or hungry again. I think back on that story and see how the world has changed. There are still missing children going homeless and my wish this Christmas that some Sofie will find her way back home and receive the love she so missed all those years. My birthday will pass and so will Christmas, but I am so blessed to have a wonderful family that loves me and I bless them and hope that everyone will have a wonderful happy Holidays and a prosperous new year! My future is changing again and I definitely think its going to be alright! maybe this time I will be able to stay put for a while. Only God knows for sure and I have full confidence in Him!! I miss my parents and my siblings that are far away, but we are one in Spirit! all my Anguilla family, I love you all and you know who you are!!
