A machine that fills bottles, fills them accurately 98% of the time. In a bottling plant, the manager is finding that the machine overfilled 5 out of 100 bottles. How would you explain to him, in non-statistical terms, how he might find out whether this could be normal, or whether there is something wrong with the machine. I think the manager is right about investigating the whether the machine is normal or not. According to the machine specification, it is suppose to be accurate 98% of the time. However, in this bottling plant, the machine is operating at a 95% accuracy (95 out of 100 bottles are normal). So comparing the actual VS estimated would be (95% < 98%). Therefore, there is something wrong with the machine and it is operating below the normal quality.
