A major Chinese food supplier for restaurants in the Northeast and Midwest was inspected by the Food and Drug Administration and found to contain rat nests, birds and feces in its warehouse. NJ reports that the New Yung Wah Trading Companys facility in McKees Rocks, Pa.in October. Rats nest containing multiple rodents in thawing rib meat. Dead rats along the walls of the facility. Flying birds that landed and defecated on stored food products. Rat excreta inside cartons of pineapple. Rat excreta and possible rat urine stains on bags of monosodium glutamate. Inadequate floor drainage. Workers smoking while handling food being prepared for distribution. According to the Daily Finance, rodenticide was placed on plastic plates next to food products. Additionally, because the warehouse was packed with bags of food, employees wouldnt have been able to see any pests.
