A man is under police guard after diving from a moving car on the Central Coast today (Tuesday 1 July 2014). About 11.55am, police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attempted to stop a vehicle as a part of an ongoing investigation into alleged drug supply. The white Holden Commodore did not stop when police directed it to do so and a pursuit began. The pursuit travelled through a number of streets in Watanobbi and police lost sight of the sedan for a number of minutes. The pursuit was stopped for safety reasons. Police spotted the vehicle travelling north on the Pacific Highway at Wyong. Officers have gone to investigate when they found an injured man on the side of the road. The 38-year-old man told police he had jumped from the passenger side of the moving car. He was assessed on site before being taken to hospital for further medical checks. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries are continuing to locate the driver of the car and the white Commodore. Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
