A marbled, stripey, hazy cloud layer lies sleepily over the invisible blue, although the rising sun is just about making its prescence known as a pale golden disc only just strong enough to penetrate the haze... Radio 4 - on downstairs - has just announced that us London folk should consider staying indoors today, as the air pollution levels are pretty high - a combination of static air over the city and the aerial influx of Sahara sand are the culprits - which leads me to consider the changes that would take place - and how quickly they would happen - if we could actually see what comes out of all those primitive internal combustion engines... Out of sight, out of mind... But still, perched on a high hill on the edge of the metrollopuss, things arent quite so bad here... a proper nimby attitude, eh? If you suffer from asthma, however, be careful! Wonder how long itll be before we all have to wear those dinky little facemasks... The air here is indeed still, not a leaf is turning, not a branch quivering, but the blossom is still glowing bright with an almost internal light, and the fresh young greenery still gives a little lift to the spirit - guess well have to hope for some rain! :¬}
