A mentor once told me that Id never be successful trying to sell people on hard work. I told him Id rather be unsuccessful selling the truth than super successful selling a lie. Success isnt effortless. Building a cult is hard damn work. It means facing things youd rather not. It means working while everyone else is sleeping. It means jumping the hurdles most people deem too high ... Too much effort. It also means arriving at the success youve always wanted and finding it means nothing ... The tyranny of the achieved goal ... Learning to find new ways to make meaning. It means losing old friends and family who cant cope with you changing and learning how to be okay with the vitriol and anger from total strangers. You can have anything in this world you want - if youre willing to pay the price. Sometimes I wonder, if Id known the price at the outset, if I would have been willing to pay it ... Theres a reason they dont show you the black belt syllabus at white belt. If you choose to buy the easy answer - if your mind is telling you There MUST be an easier way - all youre doing is delaying your success ...
