A message from Mark Bulmer (it wont let me tag you, so please comment below) Hi. . I wanted to give a little bit of life experience to new parents or even you people with cf. . . I was diagnosed with cf a few day old. . My mam was a single parent because my dad tried to put a pillow one my head when he found out what I had. . She brought me up like any other child. She never wrapped me in cotton wool and stopped me doing anything in life. She encouraged it. . I lived my childhood wondering if the doctors where wrong because I was like any other child. . I then got my driving licence and first car and with that started getting a little lazy. . Driving everywhere and not walking as much. . I started to become ill alot more. I went from going onto iv treatment once a year to a couple of times a year. . I started to do less and less with in turn made me more ill more frequently. . Then I got my first job and everything was great again. But then I changed my job to a call centre and as u can imagine that was sitting at a desk not moving. . Again I got sick alot more. . Im now 34 and just this Christmas Eve I was rushed into hospital with oxygen levels of 60% and they didnt think id last the week. . But Im. Still fighting lol. . . Im not sure Ill make this year though, I will fight all the way. . . . What I want to say to new parents with a child with cf or young people who are how I was, is to please dont wrap the children in cotton wool, keep them active, the more the better. . But I would love if u could share my story, because if it extends the life of 1 person then Id be a happy person. . Thanks for reading this. . . I am going to write to another cf page as well to reach as many people as possible.
