A message from Rod Borba, President of Cordova Girls Sofball: It is with a sad and heavy heart that I am writing this message to inform you of the passing of Wendy Pitman. Wendy and Roy Pitman have been great friends to me and my family and extraordinary friends and volunteers to Cordova Girls Softball for many years. Wendy had a great passion for all of her children and a commitment to the league. Wendy fought valiantly through numerous rounds of chemotherapy for the past year to prolong her life to be with her family and friends. Her passing will not only be mourned by her family, but also her extended softball family and everyone that knew her. Please support the Pitman family: Roy, Cassie, Katie and Haley as they grieve and move forward with thoughts of their dedicated wife and mother. Many of you know Roy as “Coach Roy”. He has been a long time board member and coach. Every league needs dedicated volunteers and I know that during a large portion of my 17 years with Cordova Girls Softball his exhaustive dedication has motivated me to be better and I know that his approach with the girls that he teaches softball skills to makes them feel the same way. Wendy shared the same desire to give and I personally would like our organization to support and comfort him and his family during this difficult time.
