A message to Susan How privileged you have been to witness all the major milestones in the lives of your children. It can’t have been easy in the early years to assume another identity, acquire a sense of belonging within another community or successfully put down lasting roots as a foundation for you new family unit. Perhaps you didn’t manage any of these things but we hope you did for the sake of your children. Assuming this has indeed been the story of your last 27 years, can you honestly now look back at your life and say, that removing Christopher and Lisa from their father was the morally right thing to do? Can you honestly say that those family members, who helped you 27 years ago when you were at your most vulnerable, did the morally right thing? Has the passage of time given you clarity of thought not possible 27 years ago? Is your conscience ever pricked with guilt when those milestones in your children’s lives occur? Did the husband you loved and chose to spend the rest of your life with really deserve to be deceived, abandoned and left to spend 27 years grieving for the children you stole away from his life? Whatever your feelings are for Louis now, please don’t punish your children any longer. The mistakes made were of your choosing not theirs. Louis is still their father. Give them back their right to choose to get to know him. Please?
