A message to my members, but it is extended to all of you... Ive been planning this for a while now... Its not a foundation or charity, but more like a movement. I call it, If you Can...Do Campaign. I feel, as a group, we all live a very very fortunate life. We all have a lot to give and I want to take advantage of that. As most of you know, I am an Army Veteran and was very fortunate to come home from two tours of duty from Afghanistan and Iraq, with my mind and body intact. Some of my brothers in arms were not as fortunate. I plan on participating in a half Ironman in March 2015 to get me prepared for a full Ironman next summer. I want to dedicate my participation to all those soldiers who are not able to participate and to raise awareness and funds on their behalf. Aug 1 marks our official 1 year anniversary of HEAT Athletic Club. I love and appreciate all the love and support from each and every one of you. And without you all, I would never have the opportunity to do what I do. To show my appreciation, I am hosting a party at Woodlawn Beach!! Our 1 Year Anniversary party will be Fri, Aug 22 from 5-8pm right on the beach. Well have a three hour open bar with live music. Well drinks and canned beer (no glass on the beach) will be offered. Tickets will be $25 with all proceeds going to our local Veteran Affairs Office and Medical Center in Buffalo. Tickets will go on sale sometime next week. This party is for us, but anyone who wants to support our cause is more than welcome. Any questions, please ask. I hope you all can attend!! (If you have plans, break them!!)
