A moment of reflection on your Journey to More. Why do you - TopicsExpress

A moment of reflection on your Journey to More. Why do you suppose most believers will show great compassion and support for the physically disabled and blind, while not equally motivated to express the same compassion, attention and support for the spiritually blind and disabled? Support for the former through our time and treasures, the latter by sharing Jesus’ cure for spiritual blindness through His payment for us on the Cross and then discipling that believer into a growing and close relationship with Jesus? --- Why this disconnect? I believe its because the ‘former’ good work is easier, more visual, makes us feel better (and it should), and will bring us the praise of others. The ‘latter’ good work not so much. Physical blindness and disabilities are terrible and deserve our prayers, concern and attention, but thank God, those disabilities are also TEMPORARY, lasting only a lifetime on earth. Spiritual blindness however, left unchecked, is terminal, and has ETERNAL consequences (II Cor. 4:4). Empathy, care and support in behalf of both maladies are commanded by God, are good, need our support, attention and care, and are the right thing to do. However, as Jesus demonstrated for us, there is a critical need to show our concern and care for BOTH. Think about that. Lee Stanford JourneyToMore.net
