A mugging and subsequent shooting occurred in the early hours of this morning in Soutpans Avenue, Quellerina One of our Reaction Officers operating in the area, whilst on patrol, noticed SAPS presence at a non-client premises in Soutpans Avenue. Our Officer made contact with the Officers on site and was able to establish that a mugging had indeed just occurred. The non-clients domestic worker was on foot, on her way back to the residence, when she was accosted by multiple armed male suspects all demanding her valuables. Luckily, a resident nearby overheard the commotion, saw what was happening and phoned the Police immediately -who arrived on scene shortly afterward. Shots were exchanged between the SAPS and the then fleeing suspects, but unfortunately they managed to make an escape. Thankfully, the domestic worker was left unharmed through the ordeal, although now without a cellphone. #StayVigilant #StaySafe!
