A must read by Auschwitz survivor Martin Greenfield in the New York Post, Having been transported from Auschwitz to Buchenwald, I stood on pipe-stem legs and watched as Gen. George S. Patton’s Third Army rumbled into Buchenwald on April 11, 1945, to liberate me, Elie Wiesel and the roughly 21,000 walking skeletons Hitler and his henchmen housed there. American boys, hardly older than I was, had left all they knew and loved and traveled across the world to bring freedom to people they did not know.
