A new day in Shaaban means a day closer to Ramadan! Let us discuss today’s hadith. #ProjectQalaMuhammad(PBUH): The Messenger of God (PBUH said: "The most virtuous behavior is to engage those who sever relations, to give to those who withhold from you, and to forgive those who wrong you" The first part of the hadith discusses maintaining relations with people such as, family members who may have difficulty upholding stable relationships. Sometimes we encounter people close to us who have a tendency to drive others away. Their inability to accept or give love for the sake of Allah should not hinder our giving of that love. Good character stems from giving and not expecting anything in return. As Muslims we take action for the sake of Allah and all we need is His approval. The hadith emphasizes this notion of giving more than taking by saying that virtuous behavior includes giving to those who give you nothing in return. Strong character is achieved when you begin acting selflessly and standing by people giving them what they need to become better individuals. Finally the hadith talks about a very crucial component of good character: forgiveness. Forgiveness is more for the purification of our hearts than it is for the person who has wronged us. When you forgive a person who has wronged you, you are letting go of the anger and increasing your spiritual contentment.
