A new pipeline is in the works to help transport natural gas from the Marcellus Shale in northern Pennsylvania to East Coast markets, and the route goes through Lancaster County The pipeline, dubbed the “Central Penn,” would connect the Transco near a compressor station known as Station 195, Williams said. Station 195 is in southern York County, just across the Susquehanna River from Lancaster County, according to a map provided by the company. In the north, the Central Penn would hook into a line running east-west, called the Leidy line, near Station 515, Williams spokesman Chris Stockton said. The route between the two endpoints has not been finalized, but it will traverse parts of Schuylkill, Northumberland, Columbia and Luzerne counties, as well as Lancaster and Lebanon counties.
