A note on love: If we don’t have a partner society tells us we are incomplete. If nobody loves you, then what’s wrong with you? I have been single for almost 3 years now and do you know what’s wrong with me?? Absolutely nothing! Being single has been a choice and this relationship with myself has been the happiest I have been. Sure, there are lonely moments, the longing of a touch, the passion of a kiss but loneliness is never a reason to fill a void in your life with the wrong person. I have had people say to me that I need to ‘play the field’, that I am ‘too fussy’, and to this I say proudly and strongly…no. Yes, I have standards but that isn’t a bad thing. Why? Why would you ever settle in an area as important as love? Your heart is precious, you are precious, and your body is not a prize. If you want to be in love then begin with yourself. Know yourself and stand proud in your choices, and keep your heart open to those around you until you decide to invite somebody inside…..
