A number of years ago, I had gone home for some holiday, where at one point or another I mentioned that I was having problems with a leaking faucet. Being no plumber, and being poor, I was looking for a solution. My dad told me what to do---as did first one brother, then another. Lots of advice. Later that evening we bundled up my Grandmother, and drove her back to her house in town, where, knowing I would be leaving the next day, we said our goodbyes. As I walked down the steps off her porch, she told me to wait a minute----walked over to a cupboard next to her laundry tubs, and took out a five gallon bucket. She handed it to me, saying: Here, you will need this. Sometimes we need to remember that not everyone that is listening is talking. Sometimes all the advice in the world pales in comparison to a helping hand, an effort to fill a need---a practical, if temporary solution based on the problem at hand. Sometimes years of experience can give a person insight where it might least be expected. Sometimes, when we dream of big solutions to the problems in our life, it is nice to know we have people who will hand us a bucket, knowing it will be needed, knowing it will help. Keep two buckets. One to catch the water that leaks from your plumbing---one to give to someone who will need it, should the occasion arise.
