A parent asks our group: My daughter is 3.5. I suspect she has SPD. I have been in contact with a lady telling me what steps to take (from what Ive told her, she suspects SPD as well). The first step was to go to a dr and get a referral to a ped. When I went to the clinic, the dr had never heard of SPD but I convinced him to give me a referral anyways. A ped office hasnt called me yet (its been about 2 weeks) but I have managed to set up a hearing test, an appt with an OT and Im waiting for speech therapy to call me back. My question is, when I see the OT next month (and when I get into the ped) is there anything specific I should be asking? Anything you didnt ask that you wish you had of?
