A perfect summary from an IMDB post about why Wolverine must be short. Im 53 inches myself, around 170 lbs and have the Logan look: Short, stocky, hairy, dark hair & eyes. My arms and legs are big for my height. Compare comic Wolverines legs & calves to Hugh Jackmans and you get the idea. Two completely different body types. [[yes]] When I was a kid growing up with the comics, cartoon, and video games, I loved Wolverine. When I realized I was short and not gonna grow anymore, I began to idolize him a little. Unfortunately, Hollywood wanted broad appeal with the first X-Men film so a short Wolvie was never even considered. Hell, the folks behind the film never read an X-Men comic once so I wouldnt have expected one. Growing up with him looking wild and on the small side (and he WAS small in a lot of the media I saw in the 90s), its kind of of odd when you look at him in the films. Hes this tall, gorgeous man called Wolverine which, yknow, are small, stocky animals. Can you imagine a Lord of the Rings movie with a tall, handsome Dwarf named Gimli? [[gonemad]] Years ago when I was a kid, I thought Hugh Jackman was damn good in the role and have since become a big fan of his other movies too. Now that I see the differences in both height and character, I still think Jackman is great but I much prefer the comic version, though I mostly blame Bryan Singer and the writing for that. They put all the focus on him and ruined what made him special. Cyclops is the leader, not Wolverine. And did Jackman even know any martial arts? My main problem is I think comic Logan is scary and could beat the *beep* out of movie Logan. With the next casting, I hope we do get one much more like the comic. Id actually be insulted if we dont. [[out]] Hollywood thinks every tough guy is huge like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not true. Plenty of tough short guys out there to play Logan in the reboot. Think Bruce Lee, young Glenn Danzig, young Mike Tyson, Ernie Reyes Jr., Rey Mysterio, Christian Kane. Find one who can act. [[ninja]]
