A person has to pass the test of merit even for becoming a peon/chowkidaar. Can anybody through light on the opaque procedure to appoint the Additional/Deputy/Assistant Advocate Generals in High Courts. These advocates are appointed to safeguard the interests of State, (means interests of citizens). But, how can these persons protect the interests of citizens, if there is no criteria to determine their competency. Their competency is decided on the basis of proximity with the political leaders, senior bureaucrats, high court judges, police officers and MLAs of ruling party in the state. There are numerous examples when the Advocate running Kariyana Shops, Cleaning/carrying carpets for political rallies, shouting slogans in rickshaw during elections, are appointed as Advocates in the High Courts. Then these people kill the interests of citizens in courts. Can these persons compete with the lawyers who even dominate the judge in terms knowledge as well as influence? Can these Advocates even dare to raise their tongue in Courts?
