A perspective from our friends at Libertarianism: Sane and Civil: Whats wrong with the Hobby Lobby decision? It is yet another special privilege given only to religious people. If you assert a belief, for no reason other than you claim that your deity wants you to follow it, then it apparently trumps all other beliefs including the rational. It is a privilege bestowed for being irrational. All these efforts to enshrine special rights for believers are wrong, in my opinion. These rights should be available to all, but not privileges only bestowed on those who assert a faith as opposed to a reason. As things are going the State is skewing the playing field so that a collective body of legal rights are available ONLY to those who are religious. If your faith is involved you dont have to be in the social security system. If you have rationally concluded that you are better off in a private pension/health insurance program, tough luck. A rational conclusion is not protected, but an unsubstantiated assertion based on magical-thinking is.
