A pitiable nation For the next 100 years, Pakistanis will - TopicsExpress

A pitiable nation For the next 100 years, Pakistanis will remain confused about whether we are Muslims first or Pakistanis first, whether we should be nationalist jihadists or Islamic jihadists. We will continue to live in the 7th century and speak of what great governance there used to be under sharia laws. We will proudly claim that we can conquer most of the world if we had sharia laws. Only if women became subservient to sharia laws, society would be cleansed of corruption. Afghans or Muslims who fight against the US are shaheeds. The most corrupt men of Pakistan are eligible to become presidents and prime ministers. Anyone in a military uniform is to be condemned. Those who loot and plunder will continue to be allowed to do so. The country may be at war, terrorists may be murdering and killing at will, minorities will be massacred and mothers will be pushing their children into canals and rivers because of lack of food. The one person who governed the country better than many others, gave the country a positive international image and improved the economy but in the course of serving the country made some political mistakes, is an offender who must be tried in the court. No one else needs to be questioned. I pity this nation.
