A poem about finding the Divine when we stop searching.... I - TopicsExpress

A poem about finding the Divine when we stop searching.... I find God in the strangest of places. Somedays he wears a robe of silence and places himself between my heart beats and there he sits, so quietly that if I say a word, I dont hear him. Somedays he becomes my arms and together we hold the one I love, the three of us sighing in peace. He weaves intricate tapestries with the tangled hair of lovers as they dance in tandem lost in the music of their skin and soul. The other day, I found him in the empty clay bowl that lay outside of the thatched roof where a family shared people their food with a few extra empty stomachs. And then he walked over to where two friends sat in companionable silence by the edge of the sea and joined in their laughter over times gone by. He is the grace in both intense joy and sorrow. In the screams of the grieving mother holding the one she couldnt save, in the tears as she holds her newborn. He is the whistle of the wind, he is the rhythms of the dancing leaves. He is the seed that sprouts, he is in the dying tree. It is easy to find him if you are not looking and impossible to find if you are. He is my becoming, he is my knowing. He is the voice that speaks from within. He is the souls odyssey. He is my sacred space, he is the eternity that waits. God is in my skin, my heart, my soul. God goes by many names. In my book, he goes by love. He has emptied me, he has broken my thirst. He is my broken self whole. He is the end of my long lost search. For more of my poetry, please visit sukoonblog.wordpress
