A popular Missouri destination for floating and fishing is the subject of a big debate between the federal and state government, and among Missouri lawmakers. The Ozark National Scenic Riverways is Missouri’s only national park, but some are arguing that the state should now take the reins to control it. Proponents for state control say the federal government is out of touch, imposing regulations they say hurt local business. Opponents argue management of the 88,000-acre park isn’t a feasible option for the state and would have harmful environmental effects. We’ll hear from both sides of the debate tonight on KOMU 8 News at Ten. Tell us what you think: Would you like to see the state take control of this national park, or should the federal government continue to manage it?
