A problem lots of people have, is that they always want to know why. It is uncomfortable to have to do things that we cant explain a reason for. Their pride makes them feel that they are entitled to knowing the reason they need to follow what God says. They need a reason good enough for them. If the only explanation they can have is that the prophets or someone says to they wont heed it. They think only they can decide if something is good for them or not. When we teach about the word of wisdom, everyone always wants to know why coffee and tea. Of course we can talk about how it is addicting and harmful, but really all that should matter is that God commanded us. We dont need to know why he commanded us. When the prophets warn about things or give advice people wonder why, instead of just doing it. They are too puffed up to think someone else just might know better than them. Prophets are comparable to watchmen in the tower. The watchmen can see further off than the rest of the people can. They know what is coming and what is best for their people. The prophets warn us of things, and we should listen. We need to have faith and trust in the Lord, and just accept that the prophets just might know something that we dont. If someone doesnt agree with how the church runs, then maybe they should humble themselves and go back to build their own testimony of the restored gospel. If the church was truly restored, then Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet called of God, and he alone holds the keys and has the rights to exercise those keys to preside over the church. If man changed how Gods church ran, then God would cease to be God. If we knew they reasons behind everything there would be no faith. Without faith we cannot progress. Without progression there is no exaltation. Elder Murphy
