A raise in minimum wage will only result in all prices going up more than the percentage of that raise making them moor poor and making the working class that pay for these programs closer to poor. Reality is we dont need a higher minimum wage we need more skilled jobs here in the united states. This means the solution is to close our borders with slave labor countries who pay 2$ a day to workers. This brings the unskilled jobs home, and with them, the SKILLED jobs that pay well. This allows the smart and hard working to go up in income, and everyone else to fall in line with that. If all trade with china and india was either banned, or tarriffed to account for the wage difference, workers in america in skilled fields would see an immediate increase in business volume, a higher demand for their skills, and with it raises to keep them. Unskilled workers would have entry level jobs that could offer advancement to those willing to learn. Fact is, minimum wage isnt the problem, outsourcing to mexico, china, india, etc is.
