A recent Globe article dealt with Sellers who set the price of their house artificially low, hoping to prompt a bidding war. If offer day comes and goes with no takers, they instruct their agent to take it off the market, then re-list it at a higher price. Naturally, Buyers resent this, some to the point of refusing to consider buying the property. A good question for any listing agent to ask their Sellers is, If you sold your home for the asking price, would you feel that you left money on the table?
