A recent trip and subsequent search for Shell fuel got me thinking. Like many on here I can remember the introduction of unleaded fuel and the various ways car manufacturers devised to convert there engines to run on it. The common way was adjust the ignition timing as the main issue seemed to be pinking with potential engine damage to follow. We were advised to fill 1 tank with leaded fuel for every 3 unleaded to reduce the risk of engine damage. Now having been using Shell V nitro for the last six months could the same rule apply ie. 1 tank of V nitro and 3 of standard? Discuss. ....
